Las Vegas, NV — Tuesday afternoon’s shooting at Fashion Show mall left many shoppers feeling scared and unsettled.
One particular shopper said she was inside Nordstrom with her daughter when the gunfire occurred.
“They locked us in for virtually 20 minutes and they didn’t let us [out]. They stated it was to defend us because they couldn’t discover the individual who was shooting,” she told Action News.
Austrian tourist Bermahrre Vorhmus and his wife, Jennifer, said they landed in Las Vegas only three hours just before the shooting. They stated they heard a loud bang and then started operating with about one hundred other shoppers.
“All the folks began to run into the subsequent shop and so we also ran into the subsequent shop which was the Oakley store. [Even though in the] Oakley shop, they closed the doors,” said Bermahrre.
The couple told Action News they had been forced to wait inside the Oakley store for numerous minutes, before being released. His wife said nobody with the mall would tell them what had happened.
“I feel it’s shocking. It’s not protected for the folks if no one tells you what is going on there,” she added.
