Pahrump, NV — Fire concerns are growing in Pahrump and that’s why there was a special meeting held Friday evening, to address the major problems the wildfire is causing.

The meeting brought out many residents who are worried sick about their neighbors.

“It’s just scary. I can’t imagine what those people are going through and if they’re going to have homes to go to,” said J.J. Graham.

On Friday evening, officials took the town through the plan of attack and gave instruction on how to help.

“One of the key components right now is emotional support. This is incredibly stressful,” said Jennifer Ramieh with the American Red Cross.

There are 400 firefighters from all over the Southwest, taking turns going up the mountain to fight the flames throughout the night.

A brutal combination of steep mountain terrain, winds and heat are of serious concern.

Helicopters and air crafts have been dumping thousands of gallons of water and fire retardant on the flames.

The Pahrump Community Center has transformed into a command post and rest area.

Officials still don’t know when residents will be allowed to return home.

So far, no structures have been lost and there are no reported injuries.
