On Saturday, April 13, at 4:15 p.m. Clark County Fire Department and Las Vegas City Fire Department responded to a scene of a structure on fire. In a developing at 6300 West Tropicana Avenue, unit space 154 at the West Valley Mobile Home Park, several 911 calls were received as responding firefighters arrived.
Firefighters located a double wide mobile home with smoke coming from the side and rear of the building.
A neighbor attempted to assist getting every person out of the home safely and as he exited via a window at the front of the structure, he injured himself severely and was transported to United Healthcare Trauma Center.
The fire was knocked down within 5 minutes, but whilst checking for extension of flames a fire was found in the attic. Owners said the fire started on the patio, but gusts of higher winds extended the fire into the home, then into the attic space.
Two citizens have been injured and taken to a hospital, one particular with serious injuries and a single with minor injuries in relation to this fire. The Red Cross was named to help in assisting with the household that was displaced.
