Controversy over how Dooley Elementary posts test results
Henderson, NV — Some parents are upset over the way Dooley Elementary School in Henderson is posting testing results.
This is for the Discovery Test. It is given multiple times a year to track students’ progress in math, reading and language arts.
The students’ names are being posted along with a color next to it indicating how they did.
This is on display outside the principal’s office, where students do not have access, only other faculty. The school says posting the scores together allows teachers to give students the help they need by grouping them with other children at their level.
Dooley Elementary School has a five-star rating and is a Blue Ribbon school, which is only awarded to 340 public and private elementary schools in the entire country.
