Police announce key kid porn seizure, sex offender arrest

A report of video gear found under a mobile home led police to seize a massive collection of suspected kid pornography on Monday.

Detectives also arrested a 31-year-old registered sex offender following he allegedly set up video-recording equipment below the master bathroom area of a Pahrump mobile home.

A 14-year-old girl was utilizing the bathroom when she told an adult in the home that she saw an individual’s fingers by way of a hole in the floor. The adult, a 38-year-old woman, referred to as police.

The discovery led police to James Wesley Adams and his collection of 144 VHS videotapes as well as still images of young, underage females in different stages of undress, according to a police press release made public late Tuesday.

The videotapes had been made allegedly using tapes of Hollywood films with their security functions disabled, allowing the suspect to tape more than the movie and yet retain the tape’s authentic look, according to police.

Adams is charged with peeping, peering or spying with a recording device as properly as multiple counts of child pornography. Police say additional charges are feasible.

Adams is becoming held in lieu of $ 60,000 bail. Police say Adams was a compliant, convicted sex offender, but a cursory check of regional sex offender records didn’t reveal Adams’ conviction.

This story will be updated as a lot more info becomes obtainable.
